session 7 Reflection video

As educators, our aim is to get students energized and engaged in the hands-on learning process, and video is clearly an instructional medium that is compelling and generates a much greater amount of interest and enjoyment than the more traditional printed material. Using sight and sound, video is the perfect medium for students who are auditory or visual learners. With the added use of subtitles each child then has the choice to watch, listen to, or read each presentation. Video stimulates and engages students creating interest and maintaining that interest for longer periods of time, and it provides an innovative and effective means for educators to address and deliver the required curriculum content.

How do the two compare in terms of instructional media?  Which do you think students would find easier to follow?  As a teacher, do you think it would be useful to get students to create their own screen casts.  Why/why not?
I think that the video tutorial is more way effective than traditional paper based teaching and learning method since it provides  learners to see theoretical and practical view at the same time.  This helps them to learn and imagine the information easily. While preparing  students their own screen casts ,they may learn how to do that tutorial  and review subject.

Online Test

In your blog post, describe your reaction to the tests.  Do you think that online tests like this are useful? Would you encourage students to use online tests for other purposes, such as personality tests, technology skills tests, etc. Why/why not?

I think that online test is one of the most effective learning styles for students. This method improves to solve many questions in one question because these tests want many answers and students must know the answer of each case. Therefore, students learn a variety of information and evaluate themselves. In addition, I learn many words thanks to online test that has 140 question and 560 new words. Now, I  know many different words :)

Reflection - Session 5(digital literacy strategies (encoding/decoding)

Reflect on your experiences as a student learning one of your subjects in high school. Give examples of the different types of digital literacy strategies (encoding/decoding) that you were required to use.  How effective was your teacher’s use of visuals in enhancing the learning in your class?  Refer to some of the guidelines and principles that we read about in Chapter 8.

When I was high school, my english instructor were teaching us a variety of words and how to understand the texts and listening. My teacher thought that if she provided some digital literacy strategist which one is decoding/encoding in classroom, we understood effectivelly and memorized many words easily.Generally, these visual materials were videos, pictures or slayts. This method influnced students' attention positively. This is because, students effective.Students are impressed by the visuals and draw their attention so that they do not forget whatever they see.In addition, my teacher wanted many comments from us and she gave many homeworks about videos and pictures and so we improved visual learning styles. While she was showing these visual materials, she used computer, Powerpoint slides and  posters.
