Starting with the first step, Analyze Learners, it is essential to first think about your students and their general characteristics, academic levels, skills, and styles.Many teachers apply this step with asking question about their students' when they enter the classroom .The next step is to know what state objective you are going to teach. What do you want your students to know by the end of the lesson? Looking ahead at your learning outcomes is very important.However, although some teachers want to teach what they know, others do not care about what their students learn from lesson. This situation vary according to teachers.I haven't met irrelevant teacher but some friends have met this. Next, selecting instructional methods, media, and materials cannot be overlooked. It’s important to choose methods and materials that will appropriately meet the state objectives that you are teaching. This requires a lot of planning and preparation on the teacher’s part. Utilizing these media and materials comes next; it is very important to preview or use media and materials before your lesson, especially when using technology (smartboard, document camera, streaming video), to make sure everything works appropriately. Requiring learners to participate is also an essential part of any lesson. Requiring that students be actively involved in the lesson will not only engage students. These media and materials change the effect of course positively and many teachers apply them in their lesson. Lastly, evaluating and revising is a step that cannot be overlooked; while this step is often skipped over, it is actually the most vital piece. After instruction, teachers must evaluate the entire instructional process.
I think that a good teacher should perform these steps and I'm lucky, I meet effective teachers :)
Hi Ezgi. You definitely explained very well the steps of the Assure model.However, I want to take you attention and focus on subject which some teachers are not good at using the classroom staff just like you explained materials , Projections,computer usage,smart-board, document camera, streaming video . They have a problem about usage of this kind of technological devices while performing their lectures on classroom. I think that they have to check whether media and materials works properly or not as it affects of lecture currency in positive or negative way.Even we can observe this kind of instructors at METU-NCC. Furthermore, some teachers cannot achieve the student's lecture participation.They need to try to find a way to solve this problem.
YanıtlaSilHi ezgi. You are right to say that there are irrelevant teachers with their students but also there are relevant teachers. This is about the peoeple's personal life. That is , people should develop themselves, they add new things in their life. They shouldn't receive just given education. If they develop themselves, they would be better.
